The Hoso Kumiage Japanese Katana (KTN3) is specially handmade and forged in the Yamato Nihonto tradition, which is considered to be the oldest tradition in japanese swordmaking. This forging metheod and premium quality, high carbon Japanese steel makes it an extremely sharp, durrable and flexible blades with bo-hi (groove) offered today.
The Hoso Kumiage features a genuine same' tsuka, Japanese black silk Tsuka Ito (also available in golden brown) and 95% hand made silver Koshirae. The Hoso Kumiage Japanese Katana can be completely disassembled for full maintenance. It is a fully functional Japanese katana, not a replica.
Tsuka Ito is made from traditional Japanese silk.
The Menuki, Fuchi and Kashira are all handmade with 95% silver.
The oxidization process will creat an antique look.
Traditional hand crafter brass tsuba. Saya with Kurikata ,Sayajiri and Koiguchi (All of them made from Silver 95 %)
Blade High carbon Steel - Notare Hamon with Edge Hardness= 60-63 HRC and Body Hardness=30-33 HRC.
Black finish saya included with KOIGUCHI (Buffalo horn ) and off course a 10 inches Nakago and MEI.
